Impressive records at Sea and shore National Champs
National athletes underlined their credentials at the Sea and Shore National Athletics Championship, with John O’Brien breaking new grounds after running a personal best of 46.91 secs. in the 400m.

He was closely followed by Texas-based Daniel Gyasi (46.71s) who won the race on a non-scoring basis.
Kwadwo Acheampong and Kwadwo Ampem Tuffour also recorded personal bests in taking the second and third places in 47.11 seconds and 47.39 secs, respectively.
Mary Zuta threw a personal best of 51.55m to win the women’s javelin and also clinch the overall prize in the event. She was followed by Anastasia Mensah who threw a personal best of 45.37m.
Vivian Mills capped her impressive display throughout the season by winning the women’s 200m event, crossing the line in a time of 23.97 ahead of Shawkia Iddrisu, 24.65 and Janet Mensah in 24.74.
Martha Bissah comfortably won the women’s 800m final in a time of 2:08.19.
The competition came to a climax with the women’s 100m race which saw Janet Amponsah edging out US-based Flings Owusu-Agyapong in the closest of races. Janet crossed the line in a time of 11.52s, while Flings clocked 11.53s ahead of Beatrice Gyaman (11.80s).
