You're not a celebrity in your marriage - Daughters' Cynthia Appiadu

LEAD singer of Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Cynthia Appiadu has advised celebrities to leave their stardom outside the home if they want their marriages to last.

“You are not a celebrity in your marriage and that is what I want the celebrities to know. You are a celebrity outside your marriage and not in your matrimonial home.

"For instance I do all the cooking and washing at home. I don’t allow my celebrity status rule my marriage. I serve my husband well as a wife and take care of my children as a mother.

"There is no single day I have thought of allowing my celebrity status take over and that has sustained my marriage all these years,” she told Doctor Cann on Happy FM on Saturday, May 16.

Cynthia Appiadu admitted that there was no marriage without problems but everything depended on how a couple handled their issues.

"I will not say marriage is that easy. There are issues all the time but the onus lies on the partners to make it work,” she said.

Cynthia Appiadu also advised celebrities to stop sharing their personal lives on social media and with friends.

“Once you discuss your issues with friends and on social media you invite anyone to talk about it and suggest wrong solutions to you. Certain things must be private in marriage.

"I believe in solving everything with my husband. Together we are able to overcome every obstacle in our marriage without putting it out there,” she said.

Cynthia Appiadu advised that celebrities be patient and work on their marriages.
