THE National Theatre has sent out a reminder to all individuals interested in taking part in its logo competition to submit their designs before the closing date of January 21.
The search for a new logo for the Theatre after 25 years in existence, led to the introduction of the 'New Logo' competition, which is offering creative designers between the ages of 18-35 years the opportunity to create an official logo for the Theatre.
A statement signed by the Executive Director of the National Theatre, Mrs Amy Appiah Frimpong, said the competition was part of the new strategic plan of the institution.
It also noted that the terms and conditions of the competition required participants to submit their works by January 21, with entries submitted after the deadline to be rejected.
The release also encouraged creative persons who fall within the targeted age group to take part in the competition.
At the launch of the 'New Logo' competition in December last year, Mrs Amy Appiah said the new logo would define the National Theatre’s role in ensuring the promotion and development of the performing arts in Ghana.
“People associate the National Theatre with just the building and as the strategic planning process of rebranding the National Theatre at 25 comes to an end, we are interested in developing a new logo that represents the body and take the focus off the building.
The winner of the competition will take home GHS5,000 while the four runners up will take GHS1,000.00 each.
The winning logo will be unveiled on January 28, 2019 at a ceremony together with the strategic plan of the Theatre.
