The concert was launched on Friday, May 3 at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra and a good number of A-list and new artistes from Ghana and Nigeria were announced as performers on the night.

Ghanaian artistes billed to perform include Patapaa, Medikal, R2bees, Kelvin Bwoy, Bless, Tulenkey, AK Songstress, Ras Kuuku, Opanka, Fameye, Narna, J. Derobie and Kofi Mole.

This year marks the 9th edition of the event which began in 2011 and has been themed: "Clash of the Titans."

Addressing the media at the launch, Public Relations Officer of Empire Entertainment, Laillah Crystal Banda noted that this year's event will be awesome as it builds up to its 10th edition next year.

“We are going all out to make this year's event a great one as it leads up to its 10th year. Preparations for the event next month started a few weeks ago so that we have ample time to give the patrons a good and fantastic show,” she said.

She told Graphic Showbiz that for the first time there will be other artistes from other African countries performing at this year's Ghana Meets Naija.

Patapaa told Showbiz he intends to put up another splendid performance like he did last year.

“Everyone was calling my name last year and this year it is going to be fantastic as I am the trending artiste now with more than seven songs,” he said.

This is Ras Kuuku's first time mounting the Ghana Meets Naija stage and he advised the Nigerians to forget about the show because the Ghanaians are winning hands down.

Put together by the Empire Entertainment, last year’s edition of Ghana Meets Naija dubbed: "Rescue Mission," witnessed performances from Stonebwoy, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Patapaa, Fancy Gadam and a host of others.
