Appietus to be celebrated

AWARD - winning sound engineer, Appiah Dankwah popularly known as Appietus, will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16 at the Kegali Hotel, Dansoman, Accra as part of activities to mark his birthday.

Joining in the celebration will be some of the artistes Appietus has produced music for since he started out over a decade ago.

Verony, King Gargo and other musicians have been billed to perform at the 8pm event.

In an interview with Showbiz, Appietus said he was worth celebrating considering his achievements over the years.

“I have produced over 200 hit songs and I deserve to be celebrated. I have invited most of the musicians I produced for to join me in the celebration,” he said.

According to Appietus, he will be performing with any artiste who has featured him on his song. “5five, Kesse, D2 are some of the artistes who have featured me on their songs and I will hit the stage with them,” he said.

Appietus is known for producing hit songs like Tokrom by Daddy Lumba, Kwabena Kwabena’s Aso, Goosie Gander by Wutah, Muje Baya by 5five, Number One by K.K. Fosu, 4X4's Waist & Power, Apuskeleke by Barima Sidney, Ka Wo Nan To So by Kwadee, Kofi Nti's Rakia, Faithful by Okyeame Kwame as well as Otoolege and Emmanuella by Ofori Amponsah just to mention a few.

Awards he has to his credit include Best Sound Engineer in 2006 and 2007 at the Ghana Music Awards, African Best Sound at the Sun Shine Music Awards in 2010, Best Music Producer and Sound Engineer, Ghana Music Honours just to mention a few.
