HE is the only Nigerian comedian who will be performing at this year’s Music, Magic and Comedy (MMC) scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre(AICC) tonight and Acapella knows he has to fly the flag of his country high.
The comedian has been in the country for some days now to prepare for this evening’s event and in a chat with the Daily Graphic on Thursday, he assured patrons, a time of their lives with his jokes.
Having had the opportunity to perform in Ghana a number of times though, Acapella, who has been in the comedy business for 17 years, said he was very familiar with happenings in Ghana and that patrons would enjoy his jokes about the country and its people.
“Comedy comes from everyday happenings and I’ve done this for almost two decades so it is nothing new to me. This is my job and it comes to me easily so Ghanaians should brace themselves for the best of performance from me,” he stated.
Organised by Global Media Alliance, MMC Live is an annual event that features some of the best artistes in comedy, music and magic and tonight’s event will witness performances from the VGMA Artiste of the Decade, Sarkodie, VGMA New Artiste of the Year, Wendy Shay and rapper, Strongman.
There will also be performances from Ghanaian comedians, O.B Amponsah and Foster Romanus. Ghanaian magician, Voncujovi, is ready to show Ghanaians the stuff he is made of.
Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, Mr Ernest Boateng, told Daily Graphic he was excited to be promoting Ghanaian artistes with MMC Live.
“Ghana is blessed with talented artistes and it is our responsibility to help them bring out these talents to keep the entertainment industry alive,” he said.
According to Mr Boateng, MMC Live was introduced because his outfit had observed over the years that there was too much focus on music when it came to entertainment and they wanted to give the other sectors prominence too.
