Many of our celebrities have rags to riches stories, some of which are very surprising. Quophi Okyeame formerly known as Okyeame Quophi, had a successful music career as one hald of the group Akyeame along with Okyeame Kwame.

But his road to stardom was not on a silver platter.

In a recent chat with Showbiz about what people do not know about him, Quophi said he used to sell ladies clothes including underwear before his music career started.

“I was in Adum, Kumasi selling ladies stuff to make a living. I usually went to Togo for the ladies stuff and I made some profit although it was not enough,” he told Showbiz.

That's an interesting story that should inspire people to chase their dreams no matter what.

According to him, he started his music career by listening to and imitating the likes of C.K.Mann, Amandzeba, Felix Owusu, Nana Ampadu, Gyedu Blay Ambolley and others.

Turning to production after the Akyeame break up, Quophi Okyeame directs music videos, produces commercials and has also produced a number of artistes like Dela of Mentor Fame on his Emklan label.

He made a comeback to the music scene some years ago with some songs like Keep On Moving, Odo Nsuo and Gye Fa.

That was when he rebranded as Quophi Okyeame and he explained at the time he had pondered over it especially concerning the direction of his music career.

“Everyone knows Okyeame Quophi the rapper of Akyeame fame, now it’s time to feel the inverted Quophi.”

He's been married to his wife, media personality Stacy Amoateng for 13 years and have three children- Calista, Beyonce and Jo.
