MTN Hitmaker 6 contestant, Bright Owusu Anti, known in showbiz circles as B-ryt, has signed a three-year deal with American based Ghanaian record label, Brilla Squad Entertainment.

The signing took place last Friday at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill with an impressive number of media personalities and music fans in attendance.

Country rep of Brilla Squad Entertainment group, Zakaria Owusu Frimpong said after years of investing in musicians from around the world, the label, set up by three young men; Akwesi Frimpong, Eric Frimpong and Bright Asante thought it necessary to invest and support a Ghanaian artiste and the mantle fell on B-ryt.

“We selected B-ryt out of the lot because of his versatility, dedication, persistence and hard work. He has a lot of potential to fly the flag of Ghana high o then international stage and with the backing we are ready to provide, he’s in for great projects.

“We urge Ghanaians to support and watch out for B-ryt because he is a staunch proponent of Highlife and that is necessary since our new folks are doing foreign genres and killing what we have,” he said.

The new deal will see Brilla Squad Entertainment handle the distribution and sales of B-ryt’s works and also see to his personal welfare.

To prove that he was up for the new task, B.ryt used the occasion to entertain guests with renditions of songs from highlife legends like Amakye Dede, Daddy Lumba and Nana Acheampong.

He also perfomed songs from the ‘new school’ and He came down to the “new school” of highlife and the guests couldn’t help but dance to popular tunes such as Odo, Angela, Adiepena and Selfish from KiDi, Kuami Eugene and King Promise.

B-ryt loves to play instruments and football and in an interview with Showbiz at the event, he stated how confident he is that his new label will support his ambitions.

“I just don’t do Highlife but soul, Afropop, Lover’s Rock and Hiplife and that versatility is my strength. I learnt a lot as a contestant on MTN Hitmaker and the grooming and lessons should be a guide,” he said.
