TLS out with Stop Galamsey

The illegal mining menace and its resultant problems such as the destruction of the environment, loss of lives among others is what has motivated a group of individual artistes to come together under the name Top Level Squad (TLS), to release a single titled Stop Galamsey.

The artistes, seven in number, are Ras MK, Ayisi, K.Rock, Yhorb Khid, Linking, Moni Kaline and Roizy. In an interview with Showbiz, a member of the group, Ayisi, said members of the group decided to release their single in order to add their voice to the effort at ending the Galamsey problem.

In the song, Love Letter, Gachios sings for his love interest that has travelled outside the country for three years and is rumoured to be married to a white man. Gachios sings that the lack of communication from his love is the cause of his tears and sorrows.

After going into hiatus for some time, hiplife duo Akatakyie are back on the scene with two new singles, Only Baba and Ashawo.

The two, made up of Prince Kwabena Budu Asamani (Kobby Culture) and Ebenezer Kwasi Okyere Asamani (Pharoah) are optimistic that the two singles will fly because they are receiving appreciable airplay since they were released two weeks ago.

Atambire holds free concert at Abajo

Stevo  Atambire, the kologo/calabash player and singer from Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, will launch his latest album, ‘Teach Me,’  with a  free concert on Saturday, August  5 at the Abajo Culture and Art Café within the Accra Arts Centre. 

The 19-track collection was recorded in Accra and produced by Wanlov The Kubolor and Percy Yip Tong from Mauritius, a project they describe as a “ a unique West and East African collaboration from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean.”

Hiplife cum Highlife artiste, Jeffery Gordor, known in music circles as Nautyca, has released a single called ‘Chocolate’  and says an album will follow early next year.

The track is a romantic love-based, mid-tempo piece that showcases Nautica’s smooth singing. In the song, he indicates his hunger for his lover’s body and describes it in a variety of ways that portray him as a lyricist with big potential.
