Nigerian singer Wizkid is touted around the globe as the star of Afrobeats in Africa, but some on-air personalities in the United States have rubbished the claims.
According to the R.O.A.D. Podcast crew, who were discussing Wizkid and Drake on their show, the musician is overrated in Africa but he’s not popular in the USA.

The OAPs DJ Neva, Dmiles, Jaime Da Great and DJ Crooked argued that some persons are trying hard to make the Nigerian artiste the ‘Sean Paul’ of Afrobeats, but he’s nowhere close to that position yet.
One of them maintained that Wizkid is not a mainstream artiste in the US, despite his multiple collaborations with Drake but he’s only known by name because of his affiliations with the American rapper.
While some colleagues disagreed with his stance, he held that, apart from music heads, nobody on the streets of America knows Wizkid.
