Peter Okoye gets two 2018 IARA nominations

INTERNATIONAL Achievement Recognition Awards (IARA) has nominated ace Nigerian singer and dancer Peter Okoye professionally known as Mr P, for Best Male Artist’ and Best International Male Artist categories for IARA 2018.

Peter Okoye, who has Ebeano Crooner as his hit so far this year, took to his Instagram handle: @Peterpsquare and thanked his fans for the nomination.

‘”Two nominations : International Achievement Recognition Awards. Shout out to all my loyal fans, this one is for you. My first ever nomination, not one but two! It can only get better and better”.

“‘@iara awards, I am truly honoured and congrats to other nominees y’all are incredible,’’ he wrote.

The former PSquare singer will be going against Micheal Dappah, Davido, George Ezra, Ihab Amir, Bread Boi, Louis Tomilson, and Sheku Kanneh-Mason for the Best Male Artist category.

Other artistes nominated in the Best International Male Artist category are: Davido, Diamond Platnumz, Cassper Nyovest, Medikal, Black Coffee, La Fouine and Mohammed Abass.

Newsmen report that, at the 2017 edition of the awards scheme, Adekunle Gold took home the Best African Artist award.

The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on September 22 at Hilton Hotel in London.

Peter Okoye is a musician/entertainer/ businessman. He was one half of Nigerian R&B duo, PSquare made up of himself and his twin brother Paul Okoye. They produced and released their albums through Square Records.

In December 2011, they signed a record deal with Akon's Konvict Muzik label and in May 2012, they signed a record distribution deal with Universal Music's South African branch.

On 25 September 2017, numerous media outlets reported that the group disbanded. Reports about a breakup surfaced after Peter reportedly sent a termination letter to the group's lawyer.

Prior to this report, the duo disbanded in 2016, supposedly over a disagreement about the role of their manager.

Peter Okoye, 36, is married to Lola and they have two children—Cameron and Aliona.
