ACTOR, Desmond Elliot, has been re-elected as the Surulere 1 representative for the Lagos State House Assembly.
The 45-year-old, who stood on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), emerged the winner of the Surulere1 state Constituency election in Lagos State held on Saturday, March 9.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC), Desmond Elliot polled 15,357 to beat the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Mr Benjamin Olasunkanmi, who only had a paltry 3,628 votes.
After his victory, Elliot took to his Instagram account to thank his constituents for voting for him again.

Surulere,Surulerians, Everyone . Thank you for giving me another opportunity to serve . I promise to be better and give more than my best to make you proud . To those I may have hurt , offended ,knowingly or unknowingly pissed off, ahh to those who can NEVER see anything good in me ,I’m very sorry. I dedicate this victory to God Almighty. To the memory of my Late Father Engr Emmanuel Elliott. My late Step mum . I dedicate this to all SURULERIANS you made it happen .. again .”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Desmond Elliot was attacked by unknown thugs while on his way to his polling unit in Surulere, Lagos state to cast his ballot.
Reports suggest the actor cum politician refused to stop when he was asked to angering one of the hoodlums who subsequently fired shots.
Fortunately for Desmond Elliot, the bullet hit his windscreen. The thugs reportedly fired more shots into the air to supposedly create fear and panic.
The country on March 9 headed to the polls to elect state and local representatives, two weeks after the presidential poll.
Ballots were cast in 29 of the country’s 36 states.
