AFTER realising that women are relegated to the background when it comes to football, Kyei Entertainment, an events company, started the Divas league in 2017 to give females an opportunity.
Since then, the event, at which ladies participate in various sporting activities, has attracted huge patronage.
And this year's edition, which will come off at the Astro Park at Dzorwulu, adjacent to the Special Ice Building on Saturday, December 21, promises to be very exciting.
Speaking with Graphic Showbiz about the upcoming event, Kyei Baffour, the founder and CEO of KyeiWest Entertainment, said they seek to promote and encourage unity among patrons and particularly, corporate organisations.
“The purpose of starting this event is to broaden the scope of the entertainment experience and also encourage a spirit of socialisation where people can share ideas,” he said.

Apart from football, other activities planned for the event themed: “Fostering Inter-Tertiary Unity through sports: The role of women”, are snooker and FIFA competition for men.
There will also be medical presentations to educate patrons, particularly women, on healthy living and the need to exercise.
“This year’s celebration, being one of many, promises to be the most remarkable in the history of Divas League celebrations taking into consideration the uniqueness of the theme for the programme,” he added.
