VIDEO: Bawumia's video with Samira in London goes viral
Ghana’s Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira have been pictured walking the streets of London where the former is currently on a medical leave.
The photographs and a video which show the couple walking happily and interacting with passers-by have gone viral on social media, although it is unclear when it was recorded.

The video has generated discussion on social media about the date it was recorded. Whilst some say it's a recent video, others are of the opinion that it was filmed in 2015, a year before the Presidential elections hence the absence of Dr Bawumia's Vice Presidential security detail in the video clip.
Dr Bawumia has been on Medical leave since last week after feeling ill on Thursday, January, 19.
While he has been away, there has been a raging debate over his health status between the New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress.
The Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has called for more clarity from the Presidency with respect to the health status of the Vice President.
Speaking on the Floor of Parliament, Mr Iddrisu criticized the government over its communication of what he described as a “sensitive matter.”
He suggested that some of the wording in statements released on the matter were vague.

“Mr Speaker, we are not happy with government communicators at the office of the Presidency. Mr Speaker, it is a sensitive matter. I could be ill myself, but Mr Speaker, they should communicate well. I have sighted a letter where they say he is on Medical leave. What medical leave? Words matter,” the Minority leader remarked.
However, the Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, suggested that the Minority’s calls for full disclosure of the medical condition of Dr Bawumia are hypocritical.
He explained that similar calls had been made to the government which had been in place during the tenure of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, prior to his death in 2012.
He recalled that those requests were rebuffed by state officials, and so it was surprising that the opposition is insistent on being given full details of the current status of the Vice President.
“For now, I think it’s most preposterous for anybody to say that let’s demand the report, what report? The report, based on suspicion?” he said.
“This is the same call that I made of late president Mills. Those who to this day are resisting it, are the same people who are now saying this”.
