The Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the University of Education, Winneba have expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Dr Avea Nsoh Ephraim as the Minister designate for the Upper East Region.
Addressing a press conference in Winneba last Friday, the UEW TEIN President, Mr Albert Akanmiim, noted that the network was highly convinced about the capacity and ability of the regional minister designate to deliver if he was given parliamentary approval.
According to him, TEIN UEW believed that Dr Avea’s immense experience as a lecturer would positively impact on his new appointment, adding, “We are hopeful that the nominee will acquit himself creditably in his service to the people of Upper East in particular and Ghana as a whole.”
He expressed the hope that the numerous talents at UEW that were still left untapped would be considered by the President Mahama and harnessed for the forward march of the country.
“We also wish to congratulate Majisi John, a former lecturer at the Department of Early Childhood Education, now MP for Krachi Nchumuro West, and Benjamin Kpodo, a former finance officer at the UEW, now MP for Ho Central, on their victory in the 2012 parliamentary elections,’’ he added.
