Sunyani West NDC appeals for support to construct GH¢500,000 office

The Sunyani West Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have appealed for support to construct a Constituency Office complex estimated to cost GH¢500,000.

According to the 28-member Constituency Executives, they had procured a four-acre land at Odomase and raised GH¢10,000 seed money through individual contributions to commence construction work on the project.

Interacting with journalists after a closed-door meeting at Odomase on Thursday, Mr Johnson Nketiah, the Constituency Chairman, said the Party would organise a fundraising rally on Sunday, August 19, to seek support from the general public.

He said it was sad that the constituency had continued to rent office accommodation since 1992 that the NDC was formed and appealed to the national leadership of the Party to come to their aid.

Mr Nketiah, popularly known as “Asenuase” said the Executives were focused to capture the seat which remained one of the strongholds of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

Flanked by other Executive members, the Constituency Chair said the NDC had more than 20,000 registered members in the Constituency, noting that if the members remained committed and paid the GH¢1.00 monthly dues, it would not be difficult for the party to build the office.

He said the membership of the NDC in the area was strong and vibrant, indicating that a new Constituency Office would give the Party a new focus and direction and make it attractive to woo more eligible voters to join.

Mr Nketiah said the Constituency Offices of the NDC needed to be strengthened financially to enable them to function effectively and reach out to grassroot voters.
