NPP candidates for New Juaben North, Bibiani, Wa Central file nomination

Three New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates have filed their nominations to contest the 2024 elections in their respective constituencies.

They are Nana Osei-Adjei, for New Juaben North in the Eastern Region; Alfred Obeng Boateng, Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai in the Western Region and Hajia Humu Awudu for Wa Central in the Upper West Region. 

They filed their nomination papers at the various district offices of the Electoral Commission (EC). The exercise that started on September 9 ended yesterday, September 13, for both presidential and parliamentary aspirants.

New Juaben North  

From Effiduase, the New Juaben North Constituency capital, Haruna Yussif Wunpini reports that Nana Osei-Adjei, after filing his nomination, expressed confidence that he would win  the parliamentary seat because it had never been occupied by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1996.

That, he indicated, was because the electorate had understood his campaign messages which would improve the socio-economic conditions of the people.

He however called for more support to enable him to win convincingly to represent the good people of the area.

Bibiani

From Bibiani, Daniel Akwasi Nuako reports that the incumbent Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Obeng Boateng (contesting for the second time) who spoke to the media after filing the forms, was optimistic that the electorate would vote massively for him and Dr Bawumia to win to continue the good works started in 2017 to improve living standards of the people.

He mentioned the introduction of Free Senior High School policy, one constituency, one ambulance, restoration of teacher trainees and nurses allowance, creation of six new regions, construction of artificial pitch, district road improvement programme (DRIP) as some of the party's achievements. 

He said his desire to improve the quality of life of the people was the reason he was contesting again to help complete his vision for the constituency.

Wa 

From Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, Kwadwo Baffoe Donkor, reports that the NPP parliamentary candidate for Wa Central, Hajia Humu Awudu, expressed optimism that she would be the first person to win the seat for the NPP in the history of parliamentary democracy.

She said she was back to accomplish the mission she embarked on some four years ago when she contested the seat but was unable to win it.
