Nasara Club urges members to respect verdict

The Nasara Club of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stepped up the education of its members to respect the Supreme Court’s verdict on the petition challenging the presidential poll of December 7, 2012.

Alhaji Ali Musah Zingi, the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator of the club, said national interest and stability should prevail.

He counselled against taunts, provocative utterances and celebrations likely to make any group bitter.

Addressing a press conference in Kumasi, he said the club, being a key wing of the NPP, wanted its members to conduct themselves well and live within the law.

“We have mounted series of educational campaigns at the regional, constituency and ward levels to help our members to show political maturity after the panel has given its ruling,” Alhaji Zingi said.

He said nations that engaged in selfish indifference, intolerance and violence could not achieve any reasonable level of socio-economic progress.

He said the club was upbeat that Ghana would not slide into confusion but would rather come out stronger.

Alhaji Zingi took the opportunity to ask Muslims to uphold the values and virtues of Ramadan as they ended their 30-day fasting, and added that they should accept to live in peace and harmony with their neighbours and reject all forms of social vices.

He pleaded with the Imams to pray fervently for Allah’s continuous blessing for the nation.

Alhaji Osman Tahiru, Subin constituency co-ordinator of the club, appealed to the council of elders and affiliated groups within the club to work with passion to enhance the growth of the party.

He asked the leadership of the political parties to work together to reduce suspicion and tension.
