The group is not only non-partisan but also non-profit making and cuts across region, ethnic, political and geographical boundaries of the country.
President Mahama also appealed to the Former Members of Parliament Forum to offer any advice that could help the government to constructively build on the democracy that had grown since the inception of the First Republic.
He urged the former members of parliament to work assiduously towards the development of their group which could be turned into a think-tank for others within and outside the country to tap experience from.
Mr Kosi Kedem, President of the Forum, pledged that they would offer advice to government and other stakeholders to catapult the development agenda of the country.
He said they would also use their forum to create awareness of parliamentary democracy for all Ghanaians and other African countries. - GNA
