‘Transformation agenda is on course’
The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Simon Kweku Tetteh, has said the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government transformation agenda is on course and no amount of distractions from opponents will disturb projects and programmes of the government.
He said those who were very objective would attest to the fact that the present government was performing and needed to be praised and encouraged to do more for the development of the country.

“I think it is time we did objective politicking. Even when your opponent is doing well in the interest of the country, we say it.
This is where the Dangme proverb which says that “Even if your rival is handsome or beautiful you praise him or her is applicable,” Mr Tetteh said.
The MCE made the comment when he handed over a nine–unit teachers’ bungalow to the Ghana Education Service (GES) at Oborpah-East in the municipality.
He said most, if not all of the promises made in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto, were being fulfilled and that was what Ghanaians needed to use in judging the present regime.
“This is part of the government’s agenda to improve teaching and learning in the municipality, because the teachers are now going to stay here permanently in the community and be closer to both the children and their parents”, he added.
Maintenance culture
To the teachers, he said the government was passionate about quality education delivery in the country and now that they had places to stay, they must put in their best to ensure that children in that part of the municipality also benefited from quality education.
The MCE asked the teachers to cultivate good maintenance culture for the facility to serve many of the teachers who would come after them.
The headteacher of the school, Mr Bright Gbedze, said hitherto the movement of the teachers from Odumase-Krobo to Oborpah East on a daily basis as a result of lack of accommodation affected effective teaching and learning and pledged that with the accommodation available to them, things were going to change.
The Dadematse (community leader) of Oborpah East, Mr Henry Teye Kwesi, on behalf of the community, thanked the MCE and the assembly for the honour done them and said he would ensure that the structure was well maintained to give it a longer lifespan.
The Executive Director of Youth and Women Empowerment (YOWE), Mr Emmanuel Nuertey Siakwa, who collaborated with the assembly through the Ghana Strengthening Accountability Mechanism (GSAM) to complete the project, praised the MCE for completing the project which was started at the foundation level in 2008 but abandoned at the footing level, adding that there was now value for taxpayers money.
