Referendum: About 833,000 to vote in Bono East and Ahafo

A total of 525,725 people are expected to vote at 1,193 polling centres in the 11 districts in the Bono East area in Thursday's referendum to decide whether six more regions should be created.

The final results are expected to be declared at the Bonokyempim Hall at Techiman after the collation of the various results from the 11 districts.

The districts are Techiman Municipal, Techiman North, Kintampo Municipal, Kintampo South, Nkoranza Municipal, Nkoranza North, Atebubu-Amantin Municipal, Sene East, Sene West, Pru East and Pru West.

In the Ahafo enclave, a total of 307,108 eligible voters are expected to vote at 688 polling centres in the six districts.

The six districts are Asunafo South, Asunafo North, Asutifi North, Asutifi South, Tano North and Tano South.

The final results are expected to be collated and declared after the referendum at the Nana Kofi Abiri Social Centre at Kenyasi Number One in the Asutifi North District.

Each of the areas concerned are expected to garner a 50 per cent turnout out of which 80 per cent should cast a YES vote to satisfy the constitutional provision for the creation of a region.
