President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Accra Polytechnic,  Daniel Osei Owusu, at a news conference in Accra, said the leadership of the two parties must not use money to induce the youth to cause trouble.

Adding his voice to the various peace campaigns, he pledged the council’s commitment to peace after the Supreme Court’s verdict.

“If they attempt,  we will expose them for the law to deal with them accordingly , we want to promise Ghanaians that we will do anything humanly possible and legally right to contribute our quota to a peaceful Ghana”, he said.

“We don’t believe making a simple decision as to who should lead our dear country should be reason enough for destroying our only country’’,  adding that ‘‘we have been singing the national anthem which should challenge us to abide by the words of the anthem” he stated.

Mr Osei Owusu entreated the youth not to allow themselves to be used as a means for destruction during, before  and after the verdict.

He also called on the media to desist from any act that could disturb the peace the nation had achieved, adding that  the media were very crucial in contributing to the peace and vibrant democracy we are currently enjoying as a nation.

Mr Osei Owusu also used the opportunity to commend the NDC and the NPP, for not resorting to violence but using the judicial process to challenge the outcome of the 2012 general election.

He further commended the Supreme Court judges for the able manner in which they had handled the case which had restored sanity in the country’s  growing democracy.
