Lohim Loving Heart International Ministries holds health outreach for Sapase residents

More than 2,000 indigenes of Sapase, a community in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region have been screened and treated of some ailments by the Lohim Loving Heart International Ministries.

Bampenase

It followed a similar exercise executed by the non-denominational Christian, evangelistic and missionary organisation at Bampenase in the Kwabre District also in the region, where 12 communities benefitted from the "compassion" ministry of the organisation which also doled out free medication.

Crusade

The exercises were the climax of a three-day crusade where its leader, Rev. Dr Nana-Achiaa Otu Appiah preached and demonstrated the love of Jesus Christ to the people.

Hundreds of people, some carried in wheelchairs thronged both centres, where trained medical doctors and nurses hired for the programme, attended to their needs.

The outreach also donated a number of wheelchairs to those in need whilst patients with major medical conditions were referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Operating under the theme: "Experiencing the love of Christ", Rev Dr Appiah told Graphic Online that the nation-wide project have been to Assin Fosu and would be moving to the Northern Region.

Appeal for funds

Despite having some support from the USA, the organisation said it needed sponsorship to execute the project because the cost of local drugs were high.

The outreach gave each of the treated patients drugs for the next three months which she said was a major drain on their budget.

Aside the medical outreach, Lohim, also embarks on periodic prison ministrations, including preaching, provision of basic items and medication as well as hospital visitation.

Founded in 2000, Lohim became more vibrant and operational on the last five years attending to both the physical and spiritual needs of the people in Ghana.
