The Queenmother of Adabraka, Naa Korkor Aadzieoyi I has initiated a campaign to create breast cancer awareness.

As part of that, a one-day breast cancer screening and talk has been planned to take place at the Young Women's Christian Association centre in Adabraka from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Wednesday October 24, 2018.

Naa Korkor Aadzieoyi I speaking about breast cancer stated that it was very necessary to detect possible problems before symptoms appear.

"Early detection of the cancer aids in effective treatment. This is because when the cancer is detected at the early stage and treated, it prevents it from spreading further," she said.

She added that through education, women would be aware of the causes of breast cancer, symptoms and also how to prevent it.
