The bank has also pledged to use part of its annual profit to assist the hospital to help improve on healthcare.

Mr Yaw Odame Darkwa, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, said this when the bank presented a 43 -inches flat screen LCD Television, a double-door refrigerator and a power stabiliser to the paediatric  ward.

The bank also painted the ward. The items and the painting cost GH¢5,000.

The Wenchi Methodist Hospital is the biggest health facility in the area, serving the people of Wenchi and its environs.

Mr Darkwa said the presentation and the painting of the ward formed  part of the bank's social responsibility and activities to mark the third anniversary celebration of the bank.

He  gave the assurance that the bank  would continue to share its profit with communities in which it operated to enhance their standard of living.

Consequently, he said the bank had also adopted the children's ward of the Bole-Bamboi Hospital in the Northern Region and also distributed over 2, 000 free exercise books to schoolchildren in the area.

He commended the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital, Mr B.C.K. Botwe, for transforming the hospital into a health facility comparable to that of a regional hospital and called on the chiefs and people of Wenchi to honour him for his good work which had enhanced healthcare in the area.

The chaplain of the hospital, Very Rev. Ebenezer Popeson Adjei, who received the items, thanked the bank for the gesture and expressed the hope that it would go a long way to make patients at the ward comfortable.
