When Daily Graphic visited his home around 8:am, there were bloodstains at the crime scene with family members, friends and sympathizers of the deceased weeping uncontrollably.

The Criminal Investigations Department of the Asawasi District Police was also around investigating the circumstances that led to the death of Mr. Turkson who is survived by a wife a four children, including three boys.

According to the wife of the deceased, Ms. Christiana Ackah, the husband was shot by a masked man who also hanged a black bag on the shoulder.

She told Daily Graphic in an interview that beside the attack of the husband, all his household items, including his laptop computer, cell phones, television and other electrical appliances were intact.

Ms. Ackah said last night, she and her husband slept in separate rooms in the apartment and that at about 3:30 Thursday morning, she heard her husband exchanging words with somebody in their apartment and moments afterwards, she heard a gunshot.

“Before then, I heard my husband saying “you have no right to enter, you have no right to enter the apartment”. Ms. Ackah told Daily Graphic during the interview.

She said when she came out to investigate, she saw her husband in a sitting position with a man in mask wielding a shotgun standing behind him.

According to Ms. Ackah, as soon as the man in mask saw her, he motioned her to keep quiet, and just then her husband also told her that he was dying.

She said notwithstanding the presence of their attacker, she called for help, but before anybody could provide the needed help, the attacker sneaked out from the scene.

The Asawasi District Crime Officer, DSP Francis Mambisi who confirmed the incident to Daily Graphic said the body had already been deposited at the KATH mortuary pending autopsy, and assured that investigations were underway to bring the perpetrator to book.
