Apart from the taxi driver, the police are yet to identify the other casualties of the accident.

According to the police, the Toyota Landcruiser, with registration number GW 1897-17, was heading towards Ntotroso when it collided head-on with the taxi, with registration number GW 1139 Y, about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the Toyota Landcruiser belongs to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi South, Alhaji Collins Dauda.

Injuries

The driver and two other occupants of the Toyota Landcruiser who sustained minor bruises were treated and discharged at the same hospital.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, who confirmed the accident in an interview, gave the name of the driver of the Landcruiser as Kofi Danso, 53.

He said the police were monitoring Danso to seek his assistance in their investigations into the cause of the accident.

Chief Inspector Oppong could, however, not confirm if the Toyota Landcruiser belonged to Alhaji Dauda.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary awaiting autopsy.
