Remain calm and await outcome of EOCO investigations — Asuogyaman DCE
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region, Mr Samuel Kwame Agyekum, has asked his supporters and the people of the area to remain calm and await the outcome of an investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) into allegations that he had misappropriated funds of the assembly.

The Asuogyaman District for the past week has been boiling with accusations and counter-accusations that the DCE has misappropriated funds of the assembly.
The situation has created tension in the area with the possibility of escalating into something untoward.
Be patient and calm
Addressing a press conference yesterday, Mr Agyekum called for calm as the matter had been taken over by EOCO and that in due course, finality would be brought to the matter, adding that he was confident he had done nothing wrong.
He said the rumours about him were false and a calculated attempt to tarnish his hard-won reputation.
He, therefore, appealed to all well-meaning citizens of the district, party members, as well as sympathisers to remain calm.
Mr Agyekum said his accusers were doing everything possible to destroy him “because I refused to allow them to corrupt my office.’’
The DCE continued that those who were doing all the ‘’mischievous acts’’ against him were doing that because of their selfish interest.
In the interest of peace and security
He prevailed upon the people of the area that in the interest of peace and to ensure that the security of the area was not jeopardised, they should remain calm and allow investigations being conducted by the EOCO to be concluded, stressing that in the end, he would be vindicated.
“Let me say that I am very, very grateful to all and sundry who know my worth and know very well that I can never act in the way my detractors are describing me. Kindly wait patiently for EOCO to come out with the outcome and it will exonerate me,” he added.
