Rally behind human resource institute - Acheampong
The President of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana (IHRMP), Mr Dan Acheampong, has called on human resource practitioners, corporate bodies and the general public to rally behind the institute and the HR Focus magazine to ensure a successful first Ghana HR Conference and Excellence Awards, scheduled to come off on October 4 and 5, 2013 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.

Mr Acheampong made the call when he spoke to the media after the official launch of the first Ghana HR Conference and Excellence Awards
He explained that the conference, which comprises an exhibition and a forum, would come off on October 4 2013, and this would precede the excellence awards, which comes off on the night of October 5 2013.
He asked HR practitioners, corporate entities and the general public to take advantage of the awards by filling out nomination forms at the event’s website, www. hrconferencegh.com or picking the forms from the IHRMP office or the HR Focus office at any of the L’AINE branches.
Mr Kofy Hagan, Editor of the HR Focus magazine, said the exhibition would offer a platform for the HR departments of various corporate entities to be given the opportunity to showcase some of the processes involved in their human capital management, to achieve set organisational goals. The platform will give students from tertiary institutions, jobseekers, employees and other individuals who are interested in the HR processes, a chance to upgrade themselves.” he said.
The first Ghana HR Conference and Excellence Awards is on the theme, “Achieving Excellence Through Human Resource Optimisation.”
The HR institute is an autonomous national professional body, founded in 1978, and registered as a professional body in 1981. IHRMP, the leading institute for HR training and development in Ghana, is dedicated to the advancement of the practice of human resource management in the country. It has over 400 members who work in both public and private companies, ministries, departments and agencies, as well as non-governmental organisations.
