Police recruit applicants undergo screening in Tamale

More than 700 applicants from the Northern Region gathered at the Tamale Jubilee Park on Monday morning to undergo the Police screening exercise.

Addressing the media, the Director-General, in-charge of services at the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Alex Amponsah Asiamah said the screening phase of the exercise was categorized into three, namely the general duties (Senior High School graduates), tradesmen, and the graduates (general duties and professionals).

According to him, a total of 2,298 of the applicants were under general duties, 649 of them were under tradesmen, 408 undergraduates (professionals) and the remaining 49 representing university graduates.

“We have allocated days for all of them”, he stated, adding “Sunday, February 4 will be the last day where the qualified ones will be writing their exams”.

DCOP Asiamah said the reason for allocating different days for the process was to reduce congestion and also prevent a situation whereby candidates stand in queues for long hours.
