One arrested over murder of GCB security man at Abura Dunkwa
The Central Regional Police Command has arrested one person in connection with the murder of Mr Benjamin Assuman Acquah, a security man at the Abura Dunkwa branch of GCB Bank Limited in the Central Region.

Addressing a news conference in Cape Coast yesterday, the Central Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Paul Manly Awini, urged members of the community to remain calm and assist the police to arrest the other suspects.
He said his outfit had met with the leadership of the Zambarmah community at Abura Dunkwa and admonished them to advise their members to remain calm.
“The police have visited the family of the deceased and promised them that the case would be properly investigated and the culprits brought to book,” Mr Awini stated.
According to him, results from security assessment showed that the region was at security level one, which he explained was the lowest on a scale, indicating that the situation was calm and free from any security threat.
“There is a general assessment every Monday to assess security threat levels in the regions and the Central Region is in security level one, the lowest on the structure scale,” the commander emphasised.
Linguist murder
On the murder case of a linguist at Abura Dunkwa, Okyeame Kojo Ankomah, and his wife, Ohemaa Efuah, which happened earlier this month, Mr Awini said the police had arrested a suspect, Maswood Ali Baba, in connection with the murders.
He said investigations revealed that the suspect, who was a spiritualist, visited and lodged with the deceased two days to their death.
According to the commander, prime evidence was gathered by the police from the scene, adding that the suspect was subsequently traced to his hideout at Aketakyiwaa near Yamoransa.
Background
There were disturbances at Abura Dunkwa last Sunday following the death of Mr Acquah.
In the ensuing melee, rampaging youth burnt down five houses in a Malian community in the area. The youth had accused the members of the community of being behind the alleged murder of Mr Acquah.
Calm has, however, returned to the area.
Earlier this month, Okyeame Kojo Ankomah and his wife were found dead in a pool of blood with their throats slashed at their residence at Abura Dunkwa.
The suspect has been remanded in police custody to appear in court.
