The diocesan bishop impressed upon the youth not to allow themselves  to be used by politicians for any acts of violence before, during and after the December 7, 2016 general election to undermine the prevailing peace and stability in the country.

He urged Ghanaians to vote according to their conscience and not to bow down to the monetary and material influence by politicians.

The National Chairman of the Children’s Ministry Directorate of the church, Madam Janet Nana Thompson, who gave a brief history of the scholarship scheme, said the scheme was started in 2000 during the tenure of the Most Rev. Dr Asante Antwi.

She said four students were selected from each diocese while Oda the host diocese was given six students, adding that SHS 2 and 3 students were the beneficiaries.
