Media round-table on contempt to be held

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), in partnership with the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy and the Editors Forum, Ghana, is organising a media roundtable with editors, journalists and journalism students on the topic: ‘Press freedom vrs professional responsibility:  Avoiding the traps of contempt in court reporting’.

The four-member panel discussion will take place at the International Press Centre at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27.

Members of the panel include two senior American journalists, David Gurien of CNN International and Susan Ledford of the Tallahassee Democrat, who will be sharing the American perspective on the topic.

The others are Mr Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh, a lawyer and seasoned media practitioner, and Professor Kwame Karikari, the Executive Director of the MFWA.
