Mason in custody for allegedly stabbing his tormentor to death

A 42-year-old mason, Francis Appiah, is in the grip of the Tema Regional Police for allegedly stabbing a man to death.

The deceased is said to have initially assaulted the suspect on December 29, 2018.

According to the Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Joseph Benefo Darkwah, the suspect after the attack reported the case to the Community Eight police station where he was issued a medical form to go to the hospital for treatment.

According to the police, on January 2, 2019, the deceased and five others attacked the suspect again and allegedly hit the suspect's head with a stone.

Mr Darkwah said the suspect went back to the police and reported the matter to the police adding that the police reissued him with a medical form.

He indicated that efforts to arrest the deceased proved futile as he kept escaping police arrest.

According to the police, on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at about 8:30 am, the deceased who was holding a knife allegedly attacked the suspect.

The suspect, however, overpowered the deceased and stabbed him.
