Location for National Cathedral is perfect, its funding refreshing —Gabby Otchere-Darko
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko believes that government’s decision to build a National Cathedral “is a great one.”
According to Otchere-Darko, the location of the cathedral is “perfect” and its source of funding “refreshing.”
In a Facebook post Tuesday, Otchere-Darko said the cathedral “must be built” and that the judges who are currently occupying bungalows at the designated location for the cathedral “will be housed and even more .”
The government to build a national cathedral has received divergent views from the public.

While some are fiercely criticizing the government for initiating the idea because they think it is needless and wasteful, others have also commended the government for the decision.

Felix Terry Norvinyo Ziga also rejoinds with: We are demolishing structures to build National cathedral while our kids still learn under trees. Who is misleading our President.
Felix returns with additional commentary thus: Apart from the land that's valued as $40 millions dollars, we have key important instructions like.
1. Passport Office
2. Greater Accra regional Minister's residence
3. Judicial training institute
4. National Scholarships Secretariat
5. Eight (8) residential bungalow of Judges
6.AITI-KACE (Advance Information Technology Institute- Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence)
7.Ministry of Communications Building
8. Ghana Maritime Authority building
9. And a whole lot of key institutional buildings
Putting the value of all these institutions together, I think our president is doing OPPOSITE of the promised of protecting the public purse.
Argues Ekow Stone : Why are we destroying to build.? Is the comfort of the judiciary secondary to religious edifice.? Why not a virgin land? Those are the issues. Personally religion and politics is no no. Being as learned as u are I am sure u are aware of what religion and politics did in middle ages Europe. If that is too far look at Nigeria , Egypt and to some degree cote d'Ivoire. It is unnecessary no matter what the religious persuasion of the president is. Will it be bad to channel that resources to the new mantra - free shs or build a much needed world class health facility that will give free health? "That u did not so it for your brother u did not do it for me" help me remember is it a song by the bee gees or Aretha Franklin? Naaaah sorry forgot it is from the bible.
