Lack of unity hampering Africa’s progress — Prophet Taylor

The General Overseer of Destiny House Chapel, Prophet Bernard Taylor, has called on African leaders, religious organisations and social groups to rise up and preach against the divisiveness that has engulfed the continent.

He said in spite of all the resources the continent had, sadly, Africa continued to encounter development challenges that “have slowed down businesses and taken a negative toll on the livelihood of the people’’.

“This is because we don’t support one another. We prefer to destroy one another and take joy when another person is suffering.

This spirit has to be dealt with else the continent will still lag behind the rest of the world in development,” Prophet Taylor said in an interview with the Daily Graphic ahead of the church’s upcoming event dubbed: “Prophetic Activation”.

Event

The event, scheduled for September 23 to 28 this year, will bring together preachers from all over the world to exalt the name of God and empower participants with keys of wisdom for success.

The six-day event will be held at the church’s headquarters on the Spintex Road, Baatsona, near Accra.

Prophet Antoine Jasmine from Choice International Ministries, Louisiana, in the United States of America is the guest speaker.

Unity

Prophet Taylor said Africans must do away with divisiveness and unite since every blessing from God on the continent would require such to happen.

“This is the time we must all realise that God’s blessings require unity and without it nothing will work,” he said.

Prophet Taylor stressed the need for Africans to bond and join forces which the rest of the world could not match.

National Cathedral

Commenting on the proposed National Cathedral, Prophet Taylor lauded the government’s decision to build a national cathedral, describing it as a good cause.

However, he appealed to the leadership of the committee handling the project to look for an available land for the project instead of demolishing houses to make way for it.

Prophet Taylor stated that although the building of the cathedral would bring a lot of good things to Ghana, “we should not allow it to affect other people”.

“I believe that as a nation we need a national cathedral to serve as a ground for all Christians to worship God and also undertake events that will exalt His name.

But instead of pulling down houses, why don’t we find an available land elsewhere which will not affect anybody,” he suggested.
