Graphic and Devtraco launch promo to give houses to readers
Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) in collaboration with Devtraco Group has launched a promotion aimed at rewarding loyal readers with several valuable items, including two houses

At a ceremony to launch the promo at the Head Office of GCGL Tuesday morning, the Director of Marketing at Graphic, Mr Franklin Sowa said the overall objective of the promo was to reward loyal readers of the company's newspapers and online portal.

“The core objective is to increase our single-copy sales,” he said and added that the promo was also intended to maintain and attract new readers.
“We want to reward our existing readers and also attract potential readers,” Mr Sowa said.

Mr Sowa said under the promo, readers are expected to buy the various brands of newspapers such as Daily Graphic, The Mirror, Graphic Showbiz, Junior Graphic, Graphic Sports, and Graphic Business and submit a promotional cutout page at designated points.
He said the two ultimate winners, at the end of the promo, will be given a two-bedroom house each built by Devtraco Limited.

Mr Sowa said the six-month period promo would be run in two parts, and that one of the two-bedroom houses would be given in the first three months and one at the end of the promo.
“So, after the 90 days, we will give out the first house then after the 180 days, we give the second house,” Mr Sowa explained, adding that the weekly and monthly promo would, however, continue from the day one till the end of the promo.

Touching on the cash prizes, he said, two people will each win GH¢5000 every month and that one iPhone would be given out every month.
In addition, he said, 10 Samsung smartphones will be given out every month to the winners.
Mr Sowa explained that there would be a unique code on Graphic Online [ Graphic.com.gh ] as well as the website of Devtraco Limited and that of Vokacom, the developers of the Ghana Post digital addressing system, where readers can go to access the unique codes to enable them to participate in the promo.
“There will be three unique codes on our website daily,” he explained, stating that when readers access the unique codes online, “you need to SMS it to the platform and because it is integrated, you will get certain scoring for being online and there is a premium on the unique codes.”
Mr Sowa added that there would also be an SMS engagement where readers are expected to answer some simple questions after which they would be directed to pick their unique codes on the websites of the promo partners.
He said drop bins would be placed at strategic locations nationwide, including shopping malls and filling stations so that readers could drop their cutouts for daily collection.
He said as part of measures to make the promo very transparent, families and staff of the GCGL and Devtraco, as well as Vokacom, are excluded from the promo and that the exercise will be supervised by the National Lotteries Authority (NLA).
Devtraco Group has been in existence since 1993 as one of Ghana’s leading real estate companies.
Its estates span across emerging areas in the Greater Accra Region, including the Greda Housing Project at Teshie-Nungua, Dovehill Estates at Spintex Road, Devtraco Villas at Baatsona (Tema Community 18) and currently, Devtraco Courts at Tema Community 25.

The Group Sales and Marketing Director of Devtraco, Mr Jorge Osorio, said he was excited to be part of the promo, adding that “this is the beginning of a greater collaboration”.
“The big things will not suppose to happen in the beginning, it’s in the middle and in the end,” he said, adding that “this partnership will not end…..we have asked our CEO to extend the partnership”.
He said he was optimistic that the promo would bring smiles to the clientele of the partnering institutions.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VOCAKOM, Nana Osei Afrifa, encouraged potential participants of the promo to use their digital address on the cutouts they would submit to enable easy identification of their locations.
He said the digital address code would play an essential role in the promo as prizes of the winners would be sent to them using their digital address code.
He, therefore, encouraged people to download the Ghana Post GPS app or go to any nearby post office to get their apps installed for them.
Mr Afrifa said the company was in the process of developing a new digital address app that could be accessed even when one is not connected to the internet.
