Her body has since been deposited at the Prestea Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.

Briefing

According to a family source, Diana never showed any apparent suicidal tendencies in the days preceding the incident.

The source indicated that Diana woke up heartily and later prepared to go to school with her siblings as usual.

The mother of the deceased, Madam Janet Otoo, left the house ahead of the children after preparing them for school.

Diana’s siblings later hurried to school, leaving her (deceased) in the house with the hope of meeting her in school. She, however, did not report for school that day.

When her siblings returned from school around 1 p.m. that day, they found that the door to their bedroom was locked from inside.

They shouted and knocked severally on the door for their sister to open, but to no avail.

She was later found hanging on a wooden crossbar in the room after the door was forcibly opened.

According to the mother of the deceased who burst into tears after receiving the sad news, “I was at work when they called me to come home immediately, only for me to arrive to hear that my daughter, who showed no suicidal signs, had hanged herself.”

Confirmation

When contacted, the Tarkwa Divisional Crime Officer, Superintendent of Police (Supt.) Mr Kwabena Gyabeng, confirmed the incident and said the police was investigating the matter.
