He explained that with the current state of affairs, there was no way the economy could not develop at a fast rate, adding that that would in the long run improve the standard of living of the people.

Dr Adutwum reiterated that the government was poised to put in place the right policies to improve the state of the nation’s economy.

Widows and widowers

He said this at a function at Feyiase in the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region, where he hosted more than 300 widows and widowers.

Aside from the food, the widows and widowers were also presented with pieces of cloth and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Present at the ceremony were politicians, heads of department and the traditional authority.

Dr Adutwum, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, praised the widows and widowers, most of whom have been single handedly taking care of their children after the death of their spouses.

He urged them not to dwell on the death of their spouses but to rather exploit every opportunity to work hard to improve their standard of living and that of their families.

Road works

The District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, Mr Joseph K. Assuming, assured the people that plans were far advanced for the commencement of works on the deplorable roads in the district.

He disclosed that three contractors had been assigned to work on the Lake road spanning Ahinsan to the Lake Bosomtwe Resort at Abono.

The Bosomtwe Constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Aikens Addae-Poku, assured the gathering that the government would fulfill all its campaign promises.

He also urged the people to have faith in President Akufo-Addo’s government.

He asked the people to pray for the leadership of the nation so they would continue to work very hard and adopt good policies that stood the chance of improving the economy.
