Two children who were returning from school at Sawla in the Savannah Region met their untimely death when they were ran over by a Toyota Corolla saloon car.

The deceased children, a boy and a girl, were in the company of two other children when the incident happened.

The other two are in critical conditions and are receiving treatement at the Bole District Government Hospital.

One of the deceased children has been identified as Ernestica Dari, daughter of Mr Donald Dari Saditey, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Sawla-Tuna Kalba constituency.

According to the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr.De-Graft Amaa Adjei, the car with registration number UW 105-13 run into the four children -    three boys and a girl, killing two on the spot.

He said the driver is in police custody assisting investigations.
