Fire sweeps through Odorna Market again

As many as 80 stalls are reckoned to have been burnt down after fire swept through the Odorna Market, otherwise called the Pedestrian Shopping Mall at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra Wednesday night.

No deaths or injuries were recorded, however eyewitnesses say large quantities of goods of assorted nature belonging to traders were lost while fire personnel have had to battle the raging fire with all they have.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

A similar fire devastated the market on July 24, 2013, also on a Wednesday and after traders had closed for the day and locked up, making access by firemen a rather tough one.
