FOGET hosts Global People’s Hub
A Ghanaian trans-generational NGO, the Foundation for Generational Thinkers (), has been enlisted as the official organisation to organise the 2018 Edition of the Accra Global People’s Hub as part of the Global People’s Summit of the United Nations General Assembly
The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, in Accra on the global theme: Reimagine Humanity: Inspire The Future.
The Global People’s Summit is a daylong, innovative global event that brings together impact-driven individuals from around the world–online to explore, understand, design, and co-create solutions to the most pressing challenges.
“The Global People’s Summit is organised in partnership with the United Nations Office of Partnerships and takes place during the United Nations General Assembly. The event engages diverse stakeholders, senior government officials, the diplomatic corps, lead global development and humanitarian institutions, entrepreneurs and social innovators, donors, the private sector, academia, civil society and non-governmental organisations, youth, financial institutions and creative partners, in a conversation on how we can collectively make the world a better place,” a statement issued in Accra by said.
It said Global People’s Hubs were independently organised in different cities and communities all around the world to raise awareness about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adding that the Hubs aim to amplify global engagement for Global People’s Summit and the United Nations General Assembly.

It said the Global People’s Hubs aimed to lift global voices, inspire collaboration, and foster innovation to solve development challenges in our various communities and around the world.
Aside from the live streaming of the event from New York City, there would also be other activities such as panel discussions by tertiary students and experts on the sustainable development goals as well as presentations on the SDGs by distinguished individuals from academia.
The online summit will be streamed live on www.globalpeoplesummit.org for people to join and follow the discussions from anywhere in the world.
