First Lady presents Xmas gifts to orphanages

 

The First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, has presented food items and cash to orphanages in Accra, Techiman and Nkoranza to support their Christmas activities.

The items included rice, sugar, cooking oil, milk, Milo, chocolate, assorted drinks and clothing.

Making the presentation, Mrs Mahama said: “I am here again as part of my commitment to your welfare this Christmas.”

Mrs Mahama had made donations to orphanages in the past as part of her commitment to meet their needs on such festive occasions. 

She also devotes her time and resources to supporting care homes across the country.

After the presentation at the Osu Children's Home, Mrs Sharon Abbey, the manager of the home, expressed her profound gratitude to the first lady for fulfilling her commitment during this Christmas period. 

According to her, the donation would make the Christmas a memorable occasion for the children.

The Manager of the Bethesda Orphanage in Techiman, Rev Gilbert Ayaric, also thanked the first lady and commended her for the generosity shown towards the home over the years. 

For her part, Madam Henrietta Asare-Agyemang, the Supervisor of the Christ Faith Foster Home (Frafraha Orphanage), described Mrs Mahama as a "loving mother who has the welfare of Ghanaian children at heart." 

The Lordina Foundation supports seven orphanages across the country.

They are the Anfaani Children's Home and the Tamale Children's Home in Tamale; The Frank May Orphanages Home and Let Kids Smile in Techiman, The Bethesda Orphanage in Nkoranza, The Osu Children's Home and The Christ Faith Foster Home Children's Home in Accra.
