At a ceremony which was spiced with singing of hymns, scripture readings, prayers and dancing, the executive members were decorated with sashes to signify their new positions after they had taken the oath of office.
The ceremony, which was on the theme, “Christ our example, selfless service”, was also used to raise funds for the singing band.
Advice
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chaplain of the National Singing Bands’ Union, Rev. Paul Osei Nkrumah, urged the new executive members to be truthful, honest and transparent.
He said it was important for Christian leaders to demonstrate a high sense of integrity, maturity and neutrality and not to allow themselves to be swayed to engage in acts that could damage their reputation.
Rev. Nkrumah also urged the newly inducted executive members to uphold values worthy of emulation.
Service
He said the leaders of the singing band were not chosen above the other members of the group because of their righteousness and asked them to rather see their membership of the executive as an opportunity given to them by God to serve the church.
Rev. Nkrumah asked them to work hard, be humble and committed to their work.
The Director, Church Life and Nurture of the Ga Presbytery, Rev. Stephen Nii Lankwei Lawson, inducted the 16-member executive by administering the oath of office to them.
The National President of Singing Bands Union, Nana Ofori Amanfo Diatuo, asked the executive members to work as a team.
