Erratic Truth Foundation donates to Compassion Rehab Centre

The Erratic Truth Foundation (ETF), a United States-based non-governmental organisation, has presented assorted items worth several thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Compassion Rehabilitation Centre at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.

The items included bags of rice, cooking oil, soft drinks, biscuits, and sanitary materials.

Rationale

The President of the North America branch of ETF, Mr Jeffrey Boham, who presented the items, said the gesture was in line with the foundation’s mission to support the less privileged ones in the society.

Similarly, he explained, the gestures was to provide some relief items for the over 100 inmates at the centre.

He added that the donation was also meant to highlight the plight of such reformation centres as well as encouraging other organisations to support the activities of such facilities.

"We chose the centre because we wanted to highlight the importance of supporting such institutions and initiatives to bring awareness to the plight of those who are voluntarily making a conscious effort to reset their lives and make greater contributions to society," Mr Boham explained.

He pledged that ETF would continue to support the underpriviledged ones in society, hence appealing to other sister organisations to follow suit.

Commendation

In receiving the items on behalf of the centre, Mr Daniel Vroom, one of the Administrators of the centre, who was once an inmate, commended ETF for the gesture and said it would go a long way to support the day-to-day running of the centre.

He added that the items would solve some of the challenges the centre faced such as the provision of food for the inmates.

He, therefore, appealed to other organisations to also support it either in cash or in kind.

Mr Vroom also expressed his gratitude to the members of the ETF for their decision to select their centre for the gesture, saying he feels proud to be Santaclausian.
