The event, held at the Grace and Peace Chapel, Adentan in Accra, witnessed the presentation of citations to the two personalities, while Rev. Dr Karamaga was in addition decorated with a Ghanaian kente stole.

Since becoming the General Secretary of AACC, Rev. Dr Karamaga and Dr Mawudor have been facilitating capacity skills development for many Ghanaian Christian leaders in the areas of Christian stewardship, peace and conflict resolution .

A citation presented to the two personalities by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the EPCG, Rt. Rev. Dr Seth Agidi, described the two as committed stewards who had demonstrated a high spirit of dedication and passion in leading the ecumenical movement in Ghana and other Africa countries to respond to many challenges facing the continent.

Rt. Rev. Dr Agidi underscored the need for the church in Ghana to speak with one voice against ignorance, greed and corruption, and enemies that sought to adulterate Christ’s sacred institution and retard the country’s growth and stability.

In his remarks, Rev. Dr Karamaga called on Christians in Ghana and other African countries to unite in combating the challenges and threats to the attainment of  true African Union.

Rev. Dr Andre Karamaga, a Rwandan, has served as the African Vice-President of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva and later led the remobilisation of the Christian community in Rwanda after the tragic genocide in 1994.

The immediate past General Secretary of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC), Rev. Dr Setri Nyomi, now serving as the Head Pastor of the EPCG Grace and Peace Congregation at Adentan, urged the church to intensity its discipleship campaign of driving home the gospel of salvation.
