The initiative was part of the NGO’s Public School Transformation Project.

In an address, the Executive Director of Christlikeminds International, Mr Edwin Bonney, said there was very little government could do to help solve the problem with the public education system.

“There is very little government can do to help solve the problem with the public education system. As individuals, civil society groups and NGOs, we all need to come together to assist and support our schools,” he said.

He advised the students to desist from absenting themselves from school and make good use of the few available resources by studying hard.

Mr Bonney said even though the items donated were not many they would be a start and a wake-up call to government and other groups to help change the public education system so as to level the playing ground between private and public schools.

The headmistress of the school, MsErica Adjei, together with her teachers expressed their gratitude to the organisation and promised to do the best they could with the items.

They urged other NGOs to emulate the example of Christlikeminds International.
