Chereponi conflict: Homes in 4 communities burnt on Good Friday
Some houses in four communities in the Chereponi District in the Northern Region, were burnt down on Easter Friday, following a violent conflict between the Bimobas and Chokosis in the area.

The incidents happened at Bunbruga, Lamshega, Jabanga and Jawali communities.
A combined military and police reinforcement team from Yendi have since been dispatched to the area to bring the conflict under control.
The cause of the conflict was not immediately known although some residents suspected it was a retaliation of a similar incident in 2016.
Late last year, there was a violent conflict between a section of the Chokosis and the Bimobas over who had the authority to fish in the Kpembi River, a tributary of the Oti River. One person died as a result of that conflict.
The Chereponi District Police Commander, ASP Henry Amankwah, confirmed the incident to Graphic Online but did not give details about the cause and the casualties involved.
The Chereponi District Director of the National Disaster and Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr Amos Jejite Latib Mbamonbe, on his part told Graphic Online that there were sporadic gunshots in the affected communities on Friday.
"There has been a lot of burning in the area since morning", Mr Mbamonbe said.
He said, however, that the security, comprising both the police and the military have been able to bring the situation under control and that NADMO was yet to take inventory of the damage caused by the violent conflict.
He said some of the affected residents had fled to neighbouring communities in the area while others have gone to Togo.
