Building of South Dayi MP, others demolished - Property was on government land
A number of structures, including a church, at Mile 13 at Adentan Frafraha in Accra have been demolished.

A three-storey building, said to belong to the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Mr Nelson Dafiamekpor, was also reduced to rubble.
The demolition exercise, which is said to have occurred at dawn yesterday, was carried out by personnel from the Ghana Police Service, the Army and a task force from the Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMA).
When the Daily Graphic got to the scene, three self-contained houses, a storey-building and a wall around the Fulfilled Gospel Church (FGC) had been affected by the exercise.
The situation has led to loss of property and rendered a number of residents in the area homeless.

A victim, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said prior notices were given to the residents by AdMA and the State Housing Company but they refused to vacate the premises.
“I heard the sound of vehicles approaching at around 5a.m. I came out only to realise that this place had been surrounded by security personnel. They began demolishing some structures on the land and according to them, the land belongs to the government,” he narrated.
MP laments
Speaking to Accra-based Joy FM, Mr Dafiamekpor said, he had become the target of some state agencies as the people who demolished his property had no court order to do that.
He described it as a targeted demolition since other buildings around his were not touched.
“Look at how the buildings that are before mine were spared because he told me that he placed a call to somebody and that person instructed that that building should be left out,” he told the Joy News reporter.
According to him, because they did not want it to look like a targeted demolition, they destroyed parts of some other walls and left.
Mr Dafiamekpor who said he was distraught, vowed that “even if it will take 10 years, I will pursue them in court.”
A member of the FGC, Mr Boamoh, who also confirmed the incident to Star FM yesterday, explained that though part of the land at Frafraha belonged to the government, the place where the demolition occurred was owned by some individuals who acquired the land from the queenmother of the area.
Officials of AdmA and the Adentan police declined to speak to the issue when they were contacted.
