He had also served as an adjunct lecturer at the level of Associate Professor at the Department of Comunication and Media Studies, University of Education, Winneba since 2008 where he taught Print Journalism and Media Law and Ethics.

The President of CSUC, Prof. Sam Afranie, commended Mr Boadu-Ayeboafoh for accepting to join the faculty of the school to contribute to its further progress.

Media landscape

He said Mr Boadu-Ayeboafoh had contributed meaningfully to the media landscape in the country and had become a household name associated with professionalism and respect for ethics.

Prof. Afranie said the school would tap into Mr Boadu-Ayeboafoh’s knowledge of the media to reach out to media practitioners, especially those in Kumasi, to improve their work ethics so they could impact more qualitatively on the people as well as enhance freedom of expression.

Mr Boadu-Ayeboafoh, who has in addition taught for years at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, said he chose academia over consultancy or legal practice because combining media practiice with teaching had exposed him to new developments and improved his competence and sense of professionalism.

He promised to approach his new assignment with the same determination and commitment with which he practised and managed media.

He said he felt a sense of fulfilment that one of his pioneer students at the School of Communication Studies, Mrs Mavis Kitcher, had been appointed to act as Director of Newspapers at the GCGL and wished her well.
